Published on May 27, 2026 by Mercedes-Benz of Cincinnati

When you invest in a luxury SUV, you get premium comfort, cutting-edge technology, and robust performance. Consider the Mercedes-Benz GLC vs. Mercedes-Benz GLE specs, two vehicles on the 2026 lineup that may be a perfect match for you and your family. Learn how these SUVs differ before you see them on our showroom floor at Mercedes-Benz of Cincinnati.

Key Points

  • The Mercedes-Benz GLC starts at a lower price point, offers seating for five and is easier to maneuver in tight spaces.
  • The Mercedes-Benz GLE is larger and more spacious, offers available seven-passenger seating, and delivers generous cargo space with seats folded.
  • Both SUVs share similar performance specs, but the GLC accelerates faster while the GLE offers significantly higher towing capacity for heavier loads.
  • Inside, both models provide premium comfort and technology, with the GLE adding more advanced luxury features like a larger display, enhanced seating support, and expanded climate and comfort options.

Price

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 price is the lowest of the two SUVs, starting at $49,550*. The GLC comes in three trim levels: 300, 300 4MATIC, and 350e 4MATIC.

The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 MSRP starts at $62,250*.The GLE trim levels are as follows: 350, 350 4MATIC, and 450 4MATIC.

Size

Another difference between these midsize SUVs is the size. The new GLE is larger with more room to extend your legs and stash gear and supplies for your road trips. It comes with standard seating for five but also has a configuration with seven-passenger seating, perfect for traveling with a large group of friends and family. When you lower all the rear seats, you can enjoy up to 74.9 cubic feet of cargo space.

The new GLC has space for five passengers. The smaller size means it’ll be easier to maneuver into a tight parking space or fit into a parking garage. The seating is also flexible, giving you 56.3 cubic feet of maximum cargo volume behind the first row.

Performance

When it comes to performance, there are a lot of similarities with the Mercedes-Benz GLC vs. GLE. They both have a 2.0-liter turbo engine and a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. Both vehicles breed serious power, cranking out 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

The GLC accelerates faster, reaching 60 miles per hour in 5.9 seconds^. Electromechanical power steering comes standard, which helps boost fuel efficiency and works well with driver-assist features. You can also tow up to 3,500 pounds with this SUV.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE achieves a 60-mile-per-hour speed in 6.9 seconds^. It also has a greater towing capacity of 7,700 pounds. That’s strong enough to haul a travel trailer, a boat, or a horse trailer to your destination.

Interior Features

Climb inside either luxury SUV, and you’ll feel right at home. Both cabins are designed to maximize comfort and safety. Features like dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel make sure you’re warm when it’s cold out. Plus, wireless charging keeps your smartphone battery full.

The GLC offers heat and noise insulating glass, which keeps you cool during the summer months and reduces road noise. An in-car Wi-Fi hotspot also comes standard, so you and your passengers have a stable internet connection throughout your commute.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV has standard energizing seat kinetics, which adjust the position of your seat and support your posture when you’re driving for a long time. Its touchscreen display is bigger than the one in the GLC, and navigation comes standard. Available features of the GLE include:

  • Sport front seats
