Who Owns Mercedes-Benz?

Mercedes-Benz is part of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, a publicly traded automotive company headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. Rather than being owned by a single parent automaker, Mercedes-Benz Group AG is owned by a mix of European, U.S., and other international investors. As of March 31, 2026, BAIC Group was the company's largest individual shareholder, with 9.98% of voting rights.

Where Are Mercedes Made?

Mercedes-Benz vehicles aren't built in just one country. The company operates a global production network with around 30 production sites across four continents.

Germany remains an important part of Mercedes-Benz production, but vehicles are also manufactured in other locations around the world. For example, the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International production facility near Tuscaloosa, Alabama produces several large SUVs, including the GLE and GLS, as well as C-Class models, all-electric EQE and EQS SUVs, and the Mercedes-Maybach EQS.

Are Mercedes Reliable?

Yes, Mercedes-Benz vehicles are reliable, especially when they’re properly maintained. With strong performance and capable engineering, Mercedes-Benz models are built to deliver a confident driving experience. This is especially good news if you're shopping pre-owned vehicles, since a well-maintained Mercedes-Benz can still have plenty of dependable miles ahead.

Are Mercedes Vehicles Expensive To Maintain?

Mercedes-Benz vehicles can cost more to maintain than many mainstream vehicles, largely because they are finely tuned luxury vehicles with specialized parts and service requirements. These vehicles – and especially AMG models – are finely tuned to perform at a level that far surpasses most vehicles on the road today.

That doesn't mean maintenance has to be a surprise. Following the recommended service schedule can help you stay ahead of routine maintenance at our service center in Cincinnati and catch potential issues early. We also offer monthly service specials to help you save on the care your Mercedes-Benz needs to stay at peak performance.

Mercedes-Benz recommends Service A at approximately 10,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first, followed by service at approximately every 20,000 miles or two years.

What Is a Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC?

The 4MATIC is Mercedes-Benz's name for its all-wheel-drive system. Depending on the vehicle, the system can automatically adjust how power is distributed to the wheels to help maximize traction and control in changing conditions. That gives you extra confidence when dealing with rain, slippery roads, corners, and ice storms here in Ohio.
